Select and describe a leader you admire. Your selected leader may be your current/former supervisor; or the leader of a company you admire; or a community leader in the fields of religion, politics, social group, etc. Using leadership theories, analyze your selected leader to identify characteristics and provide specific examples of leadership qualities you think contributed to that person’s success.

Evaluate your own leadership style using leadership theories. Compare and contrast your style with that of the leader you admire.

Write a paper in which you explain your leadership style and your ideas and a detailed, itemized, plan for improving your effectiveness as a leader based on your comparison with an admired leader.

The person I admired as leader was my Navy Chief.

Tony Kramer (Aviation Structural Mechanic Chief) was a transaction leader. He influenced me by the way conducted himself in the work place. He held everyone accountable for their actions when concern getting the mission accomplished.  His job consisted of everyone having difference jobs he had to oversee like engine mechanic, aviation ordnance, aviation electrician, aviation electronic. Chief Kramer had to know a little about every job to keep everyone about their jobs. 

 

I’m a transaction leader

I’m a transaction leader as well. My job as an Aviation Ordnance consisted of me ensuring that the aircraft was able to carry out its mission. All the armament systems on the aircraft had to be up and running. From launching missiles, torpedoes, and shooting the guns I was in charge of. Being an ordnanceman means that I needed help when loading missiles and torpedoes. Because of the platform I was on I was the only ordnanceman, so other jobs pitched in and help each other.
