The culture is aimed at promoting competition within the organization (Sessa & London, 2015). The employees are motivated to deal more with the results of their output. Significant issues discovered The significant issues that are evident are two. The first issue is related to the motivation. Looking at the culture, it is evident that it promotes individual growth as opposed to the contribution towards the organizational growth. The culture encourages the employees to work harder to be rewarded (Sessa & London, 2015). The second issue is associated with the results. The culture encourages the employees to present outstanding results at an individual level. When the employees are encouraged and rewarded at an individual level, it is evident that they pay lesser attention to strategies that help the company to grow. Instead, the employees are more concerned with what they should do to be noticed and rewarded by the company. The disconnect between the organizational culture and organizational learning a) A split in the field between visionaries and skeptics In the organization, there seems to be a difference when it comes to whether to empower the employees individually or empower them as an organization. The culture has created doubt that empowering the employees to reach the organizational goals can raise the standards of an organization (Chadwick & Raver, 2015). A good example, in this case, is seen when the employees believe that performing better at an individual level has more to contribute to the success of the company as opposed to working as one. b) Ever-increasing conceptual diversity The world of business is advancing, and changes are demanding for accommodating strategies. The current organizational culture deals with individual growth and that limit organizational learning. A good example, in this case, is seen when employees at an individual level lack the knowledge that is supposed to take the success of the organization to a higher level. c) Active mystification of the concept The organizational culture promotes the mystification of the concept, and this is because it believes more in individual results. A good example can be seen in the case when some of the employees work harder to be rewarded. The competition grows within the organization thus promoting productivity and that gives the organization no reason to focus more on organizational learning (Fook, 2016). An opinion on the current organizational learning mechanisms The organizational learning mechanism that is currently employed is offline/internal. The mechanism focuses more on the internal factors and motivations. Training programs are used to empower the employees, and this seems to be empowering them more at an individual level rather than an organizational level (Argyris, 2017). When the organizational learning mechanism was employed, the results were impressive, but the organization failed to do one significant thing, and that is to promote the process of sharing knowledge among the employees (Sessa & London, 2015). A training session focuses on general audience, and that means that the capability for one to grasp as much knowledge as possible puts the person in the best position to outshine the rest of the employees. The suitable OLM to replace the current OLMs The suitable organizational learning mechanism, in this case, would be online/external. There are two reasons for stating so. The first reason is associated with the fact that the organizational learning process is supposed to help an organization reach a specific level or achieve a specific goal (Argyris, 2017). Therefore, there is a dire need not to limit the learning process. When the learning process is limited, the organization is denied the chance to grow and stand a chance to be competitive in the market (Sessa & London, 2015). The second reason is associated with the knowledge that is needed to make sure that the employees perform better at an organizational level rather than at an individual level. It is imperative to note that for employees to contribute to the success of an organization at a higher scale, there is the need to make sure that the employees are exposed to the knowledge that makes them a threat to the competitors (Chadwick & Raver, 2015). The knowledge ought to be fetched from the external sources, and this is to make sure that the organization is in the best position to grow and meet its desired goals. The norms of the organization’s learning culture The norms of the current culture are inquiry and transparency. However, they are not fully implemented, and that is why the organization has been facing the problems it is facing. It is evident that the implementation of the two norms would come in handy to promote the process of organizational learning
